Green Flag Award 2025

Most of you, I hope, will have been keeping up with the progress of the development of the areas around the school to increase diversity. All the children were involved in some way in this development, whether that be through planting hedges, building bug hotels, litter picking, bringing in plants, creating dead hedging or turning off lights. You as parents got involved by registering the Surrey Re-Think Waste scheme. All of this was driven by the work of the Eco Council and Eco Club as part of the Eco Schools Green Flag award. We are pleased to announce that we not only achieved the Green Flag award for 2025, but we got a distinction! It was recognised that our greatest success was improving the Bio-Diversity of the school grounds. The application “truly impressed” the team who judge the submissions. I would like to thank the Parish Council, Woldingham Horticultural Society, Knights Garden Centre and other members of the Local community including parents and carers for all their support and contributions to this award. We hope we can continue working together in the future.
The work does not stop! We had lots of things we did not quite manage to achieve last year, and we will continue to build on the work we have started. Children will have the chance to put themselves forward to be a member of Eco Council over the next few weeks and will plan the areas they want to focus on this year. We look forward to working with the community as well this year.
